Job Summary
This position will report directly to the Assistant Maintenance Manager. It is a shared office environment with the other shift maintenance supervisors. This position carries direct responsibility of the safe daily start up of a food manufacturing facility. The incumbent will provide technical resources and guidance to the departments of Quality Research and Development Production and Warehousing. This is an active environment striving to achieve an effective balance between the manufacturing floor and the office.

Within the unit this position supervises and directs the activities of 8 maintenance mechanics.
- Safety is the top priority of High Liner Foods our incident rate should be equal to or less than industry average.
- Schedule the daily Preventative Maintenance (PM) or Work order (WO) assignment by technician daily.
- Manage maintenance associates with respect to hours vacations floor coverage position placement motivation and performance daily weekly and by the month.
- Coach motivate train on the job and assist maintenance associates in job or task related issues in order to build and maintain employee motivation and performance. Complete annual performance appraisals on time.
- Maintain ninety (90) plus percent maintenance inventory accuracy through daily parts requisition and quarterly cycle counts.
- Maintain the monthly budget expense on the accounts of Misc Shop Materials R&M Material Fix and Hourly Indirect OT.
- Maintain the CMMS on a daily basis with less than a 1.5 % error rate in the Work Order module. An error would be described as completed but still active past due status field updates etc.
- The plant daily start up should be maintained at of level of 90% due to a maintenance occurrence. For example 20 start ups in typical calendar week and there should be less than 2 failures to start due to maintenance.
- Plant production rate should meet or exceed 3800 lbs/line hour.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a technical field preferred.
- Five (5) to seven (7) Years of experience in manufacturing maintenance or equivalent maintenance environment.
- Electrical distribution low voltage electrical controls to include PLCs Hydraulics Pneumatics and Mechanical skills the ability to read blue prints and technical manuals.
- Microsoft Office applications Computerized Maintenance management systems (CMMS) PLC Software applications technical reading and writing leadership problem solving budget management.
- Passing score on a pre-employment mechanical aptitude test.
- Passing grade (an 80% score) on an American Institute of Baking Maintenance Engineering Course within 24 months of hire date.
- Ability to obtain passport to travel if necessary.
- Valid US drivers license and vehicle to commute to other plant locations.
Plant Environment:
The plant work environment will expose the employee to loud noise food grade dust & odors moving & vibrating machinery heavy equipment powered industrial trucks heights traffic anhydrous ammonia oil and electricity. The employee may be exposed to adverse weather conditions including extreme cold heat rain snow dust smoke and odors.
Allergens found inside the plant include: fish shellfish nuts eggs wheat soy milk and coconut.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk sit talk listen reach with hands and arms and bend. The employee is required to use hands to handle operate feel objects tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to operate a motor vehicle.
The employee must have visual acuity sufficient to operate a motor vehicle and digital camera as well as other office and position equipment. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
