The City Strategy Department is offering an opportunityto join the Planning & Design team as a temporaryExecutive Planner Urban Strategy for period of up to 6 months.
About the role
The City Strategy Department leads some of Councils most exciting city-shaping work projects that genuinely influence how the City grows connects and evolves.
The Design & Planning Team is a collaborative multi-disciplinary team spanning planning urban design transport policy and strategy. The team brings diverse perspectives works closely together and supports one another to deliver strong outcomes.
What youll be doing
In this role youll help develop strategies place-based plans and policy that guide the future of the LGA. Youll be working across disciplines including planning urban design economics and infrastructure and with government and industry to deliver integrated outcomes that matter.
Think:
Shaping strategies and place-based plans from the ground up
Working with multidisciplinary teams and expert consultants
Engaging with stakeholders and the community to bring ideas to life
Influencing conversations about our Citys future
What youll be working on
Right now the team is deep in some of Councils most exciting work including:
Preparing a draft Structure Plan and Place Plan for the KingswoodWerrington corridor (with potential to progress to Master Planning)
Strategic work supporting the development of the Draft Our River Plan
Championing key advocacy priorities and a range of broader city-shaping initiatives

The must-know bits
You will be required to undertake employment checks which may include a Criminal History Check Qualification Check Working with Children Check Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test as relevant to the position for which you have applied.
Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council for review to progress through the recruitment process.
