Join our dedicated Donor Relations Department where compassion and excellence drive our mission. Our teamis responsible forensuring donors inquiries and requests are answered promptly and efficiently through various communication channels. We manage the orphan sponsorship program and oversee the stewardship of water wells ensuring that our donors feel connected and valued.
Our goal is to create an exceptional donor journey bridging supporters to the right holders by sharing updates and reports on orphan sponsorship and water well projects and processing their donations seamlessly. By fostering strong relationships and providing detailed updates we strive to make each donors experience fulfilling and impactful.
Job Purpose:
The Operations & Stewardship Manageris responsible foroverseeing the operational delivery and donor stewardship of key donor programs primarily the Orphan Sponsorship Program and the Water Well portfolio.
The role ensures donor commitments are fulfilled accurately and efficiently by coordinating reporting cycles overseeing stewardship communications and strengthening operational systems that support donor engagement.
The position provides leadership to the operations and stewardship team while working closely with internal departments and international field offices to ensure high-quality reporting smooth program coordination and meaningful donor engagement that strengthens trust and long-term donor relationships.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead and support the Operations and Stewardship team responsible for program reporting donor updates and stewardship activities.
Ensure team membersremainmotivated engaged and supported whilemaintaininghigh productivity and quality deliverables.
Oversee operational workflows related to the Orphan Sponsorship Program and Water Well stewardship ensuring donor commitments are fulfilled accurately and on time.
Coordinate with field offices and international program teams to ensuretimelyprogram reporting andaccurateupdates for donors.
Monitorreporting cycles and ensure orphan updates project reports and stewardship communications are delivered consistently.
Collaborate with internal teams including Marketing Programs Fundraising Finance and IT to strengthen the donor journey and improve operational processes.
Develop and improve stewardship practices that strengthen donor satisfaction engagement and retention.
Introduce improvements to reporting systems operational workflows and tracking tools to enhance efficiency and transparency.
Analyze operational and donor engagement data toidentifyopportunities for process improvements and program optimization.
Support the implementation of automation and improved CRM tracking systems to strengthen visibility of donor commitments and reporting timelines.
Liaise with international program delivery teams to ensure quality control compliance and continuous improvement of reporting and stewardship practices.
Support cross-departmental initiatives aimed at improving donor experience and strengthening collaboration across teams.
Contribute to operational planning and strategic discussions to improve stewardship systems and ensure sustainable program delivery.
Qualifications & Competencies
Experience:
Completion of a formal post-secondary college or university program of 34 academic years.
3-5 years of relevant experience in program management donor relations nonprofit operations or a related field.
Experience supervising teams and managing operational workflows
KnowledgeSkillsand Attributes:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proven ability to analyze operational data and use insights to improve processes and performance.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Experience improving systems processes and operational efficiency.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams.
Experience working with international programs or field offices is considered an asset.

Hybrid Work Policy:
IRC has a hybrid model where in-office requirements are based on distance from our Burlington headquarters or a regional office (Surrey EdmontonCalgaryand Ottawa). Depending on where you live this can range fromtwo days a week to one day a month.

Starting Salary:
$75000.00Please note: The posted starting salary is intended to provide potential candidates with a general understanding of the compensation associated with the position.
