Job Description:
This role is responsible for the strategic implementation and operational management of human resources policies initiatives and agendas working in close collaboration with business leadership to achieve HR and organizational objectives. The incumbent provides expert HR guidance to employees business units and functional partners ensuring consistent and effective execution of HR programs.
Main Responsibilities & Technical Competencies
Act as a strategic partner to support the GM and with the Japan leadership team.
- Provide HR expert-based opinion and service to internal clients.
- Active participation in strategic planning and decision-making at the local leadership level and above to develop and implement the Human Resources strategy to be positioned as a best place to work company
HR Leadership and excellence in operations
- Commit to support/lead HR end-to-end operations and projects (transformation and change management) with a focus on high-performance culture data quality timeliness and budget control account
- Effective implementation of Ipsen Global/Japan HR strategy through the annual people cycle campaigns agenda and related activities according to the annual organization-defined budget.
- To ensure the People campaigns are implemented with effective training and communications to people managers and organization (iDevelop iPerform ACR Talent review iDevelop etc)
- Provide advice and guidance to people managers and employees on employee relations issues aligned with country employment legislation company policies and best practices. Manage labour relationships and related administrative processes.
- Implement HR best practices employee engagement programs and initiatives
Lead Total Compensation programs/services
- Manage compensation programs and liaise with C&B partners.
- Ensuring the competitiveness of our compensation structures (in compliance with local regulations) that attract motivate and retain the best qualified employees.
- Participating in job evaluations and compensation surveys.
- Ensure that the annual compensation reviews and strategies in each country comply with global principles.
Manage Recruitment & Selection
- Partner with Talent Acquisition Partners (contingent workforce search firms job posting agencies temporary staffing agencies etc.) and Line Managers for the hiring and selection of high-calibre candidates efficiently.
- Propose salary plans and collaborate with C&B partners to ensure both internal and external equity as well as gender pay equality.
Talent Management and Development
- Execution of Ipsens talent retention and succession planning initiatives.
- Collaborate with the regional and global HR team on Ipsens talent management strategy and the annual talent review and development campaigns and agenda.
Performance Management
- Support and Implement performance review process to include training and feedback across the cluster to align with regional/global HR standards.
- Drive best practice and act as counsel to management on all issues of employee performance.
HR Practices & Regulations
- Continual regular review and improvement of existing programs policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance through regular internal audits and conduct correction/improvement actions based on audit results.
- Ensures updated and accurate employee data and employment policy to comply with local legislation Ipsens SOPs and global policies and guidance.
Knowledge & Experience
- At least 8 - 10 years of Human Resources experience (HR Generalist and/or HRBP)
- 3 years or more of experience working at international pharma or medical devices companies will be preferred.
- Change Management
- Proven experience with successful implementation of work rules and HR transformation projects
Education / Certifications:
- University graduate (HR or relevant discipline preferred)
Language(s):
- Fluent Japanese English (business level)
