Under the supervision of the Greenwood School District the Career Coach will be employed through the Guy Fenter Education Service Cooperative and will report directly to the Greenwood High School Principal. The Career Coach will provide education training and career coaching serving as a resource for the creation and implementation of career plans and career education for OSD students. The Career Coach will meet regularly with the ATU Pilot Director for training and guidance as well as designated Greenwood School District personnel. The Career Coach will provide coordination and instruction managing components of student success and career planning. A grant funded project in partnership with Arkansas Tech University ADE/CTE the Career Coach will participate in training and collaboration activities as guided by ATUs Director of the Pilot Career Coaching project assisting in the development of communication pipeline connecting Greenwood School Districts students to post-secondary career plans. The Career Coach will be required to complete ADE/CTE Career Coach Facilitation Training and must be committed to the success of the program including measuring and reporting of program metrics.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Work in collaboration with counselors school personnel career coach project director and industry to provide career coaching supporting student career pathways and area workforce and economic development.
- Assist in the systemic development and implementation of Student Success Plans.
- Be a liaison connecting industry partners to the school district.
- Provide/assist with education/training informational sessions and career exploration events.
- Provide transition assistance from school to school training or school to work or school to military.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in education counseling human services workforce development or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Trained in career coaching/facilitation or a willingness to receive training.
Contract:190 days
