Job Summary

Subject to formal establishment a vacancy will arise for a OF3 to serve as SO2 Innovation Course Manager at the Defence Academy Shrivenham on FTRS LC Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 15 June 2026.

Unit Function:

To deliver world-class education and training to leaders to develop the intellectual edge needed for success on operations and leadership in government.

Position Role:

SO2 Innovation is responsible for the effective delivery assurance and continuous improvement of innovation training short courses within the Defence Capability Management School (DCMS)

Responsibilities:

Lead the planning delivery management and administration of innovation training courses in accordance with JSP 822.

Identify and implement improvements based on INVAL EXVAL training audits and emerging best practice in innovation education.

Act as the primary point of contact with the TRA ensuring innovation course delivery remains aligned with endorsed training requirements.

Develop enhance and implement the use of digitalisation and technology in innovation training.

Provide oversight and assurance of all DCMS delivered innovation training ensuring compliance with JSP 822 and Defence training policy.

Remain informed of international context global innovation developments and current Defence Innovation developments to ensure quality of delivery.

Assume instructional responsibilities for delivery of elements of Innovation training modules.

Deputise for SO1 Innovation as required and undertake wider Group College and Academy responsibilities and projects as directed by Head TCG.
