Job Summary

The Credentialing Specialist supports the Medical Affairs department with credentialing and onboarding for professional staff requiring privileges to work at Osler project coordination and crossfunctional collaboration to ensure compliance operational excellence and timely execution of strategic initiatives under the purview of the Chief of Staff and EVP Academic and Medical Affairs.

The Credentialing Specialist must be meticulous and comfortable working in a fastpaced environment where accuracy communication and followthrough are critical.  The position will support the Director Medical Affairs and Education and Manager Medical Affairs with:

  • Coordination of credentialing applications for privileges of professional staff
  • Facilitating orientation and onboarding of new professional staff who have been granted privileges
  • Supporting a full range of administrative functions for privileged staff including annual reappointment preparing letters of good standing and off-boarding professional staff who resign their privileges from the hospital
  • Coordinating projects and initiatives in collaboration with physician leaders and other departments at Osler

Accountabilities:

  • Managing the endtoend credentialing processes for physicians dentists and midwives applying for privileges or changes in privileges at Osler
  • Maintaining accurate and uptodate credentialing files documentation and database (CMaRS) and help support file disposition as per the organizations file retention policy
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements defined by Oslers Professional Staff By-Law  Public Hospitals Act and Oslers policies and procedures
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders (Information Services Badging and Security Health Informatics Occupational Health etc) and external stakeholders (regulatory colleges Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) and other vendors) to resolve credentialing issues
  • Communicating with physician leaders for the review of credentialing applications and follow up on unresolved issues
  • Coordinating onboarding and leading the orientation sessions for new professional staff
  • Processing annual reappointment applications for renewal of professional staff privileges
  • Supporting the Senior Advisor with preparing agenda and minute taking for the corporate credentials committee
  • Coordinating and tracking the performance reviews of associate staff and physician leaders
  • Collaborating with physician leaders and teams from the organization on various projects and committee work (ex: award and recognition events engagement initiatives strategic projects and process improvements)
  • Assisting the Manager Medical Affairs and Director Medical Affairs and Education with developing tracking and maintaining project timelines and project documentation
  • Extracting preparing and submitting data for reports and lists as required
  • Travelling across Oslers 3 main hospital sites to provide in-office support will be required

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 3 years administrative work experience; in a hospital or health care setting preferred
  • Experience in credentialing and/or processing applications of a regulatory nature preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Excel Word Outlook PowerPoint) internet surveys and electronic data management systems
  • Experience extracting and manipulating data in Excel or other similar applications for statistical reporting and producing lists of demographic data
  • Exercises sound judgment discretion and sensitivity in managing confidential and private information.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to interact and collaborate with all levels of leadership staff and physicians
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to work in a fast-paced environment maintain deadlines and pivot as new priorities arise
  • Enthusiastic about learning and adapting to changing responsibilities
  • Ability to work within a strong cohesive team structure
  • College Diploma or Bachelors Degree required

Additional Information :

Hours: Currently days including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Hybrid: Roles that function remotely but require essential regular onsite weekly work.

Salary:
Minimum: $62029.50
Maximum: $77532.00
