Job Summary
We are seeking a Kubernetes Database Engineer to architect deploy and maintain database systems within Kubernetes environments. This role focuses on delivering resilient scalable and automated data platforms using cloud-native principles.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deploying operating and tuning stateful database solutions on Kubernetes with a focus on PostgreSQL
- Designing and implementing storage solutions backup and recovery processes replication mechanisms and high availability/disaster recovery strategies
- Building and maintaining automation for database provisioning scaling and lifecycle management using Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform Ansible) and CI/CD pipelines
- Monitoring system health performance and reliability and resolving issues across both database and Kubernetes layers
- Enforcing security best practices including role-based access control (RBAC) data encryption secret management and network policies
- Working closely with DevOps Platform Engineering and development teams to design and evolve database-as-a-service solutions
Qualifications :
- Proven experience managing databases in Kubernetes environments
- Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL in production settings
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes concepts including stateful workloads storage classes and operators
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and/or Ansible
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation practices
- Knowledge of backup/restore strategies replication and high availability architectures
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Prometheus Grafana)
- Strong understanding of security best practices in cloud-native environments
- Good collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work across cross-functional teams
