Why Your Role Matters

The Senior Data Evaluation & Impact Officer provides expert leadership in the design development and governance of the Universitys evaluation and impact measurement framework. This role ensures the Gender-Based Violence Program aligns with theUniversities Accord (National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-Based Violence) Act 2025(the Code) supporting robust ethical and compliant impact measurement.

Working closely with stakeholders and subject matter experts you will drive consistent evidence-based evaluation practices enabling effective reporting informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

In addition the role contributes specialist evaluationexpertiseto broader Diversity & Inclusion initiatives strengthening impact measurement capability across the department.

This position reports to the Manager Programs and Community and supports work across the wider team.

KeyResponsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of a university-wide evaluation and impact measurement framework including defining meaningful metrics and methodologies

  • Translate complex legislative and regulatory requirements into practical institution-wide evaluation and reporting approaches

  • Establish and embed consistent ethical processes for data collection analysis and governance related to gender-based violence prevention and response

  • Apply independent professional judgement to determineappropriate datagovernance methodologies and analytical approaches

  • Ensure compliance with the Code throughaccurateandtimelyinternal and external reporting

  • Oversee the preparation of legislated reports and submissions synthesising qualitative and quantitative data toidentifytrends risks and opportunities

  • Partner with program teams to define implement and report on impact measures across initiatives

  • Manage ethics application processes to enable publication of evaluation outcomes ensuring compliance and integrity

  • Communicate complex evaluation findings clearly to a wide range of stakeholders

  • Provide functional leadership and guidance to build evaluation capability and consistency across the team

  • Manage assigned projects ensuring high-quality delivery documentation and stakeholder engagement

About You

You are an experienced evaluation and data professional with a strong understanding of the Code. As there are currently limited processes in place in this space you enjoy working independently building processes from the ground up and shaping a role you can take ownership of.You bring:

  • Demonstrated experience evaluating gender-based violence programs

  • Extensive experience designing and governing evaluation and impact frameworks in complex multi-stakeholder environments

  • Strong capability in data collection analysis interpretation and reporting

  • Experience managing human research ethics processes for evaluation andimpactprojects

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex insights for diverse audiences

  • Proficiencyin digital tools and systems for data capture analysis and reporting (UNSW uses Power BI)

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills

  • Experience working across large complex organisations

  • Proven ability to interpret legislative or regulatory requirements and translate them into practical defensible systems and processes

This is a full-time hybrid role working Monday to Friday. The position is approved until December 2027 with no extension available at this stage.
