Cannon Automotive has an exciting opportunity in our MP2 facility we are looking for a Shift Manager Logistics.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the coordination and expedites the flow of materialspartsand assemblies between sections/departments/customers according to production and shipping schedules or departmental/customer priorities.
- Responsible for managing the labour hours shifts and schedules of each team member.
- Screen customer requirements forecasting and analyzing production requirements.
- Requisitions material and establishes sequential delivery dates according to job order priorities and material availability.
- Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment:
- Studies shipping notices bills of lading invoices orders and other records to determine shipping priorities work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures routes and rates.
- Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy completeness and condition of shipments.
- Determines space requirements and position of shipment in boxcars and trucks and lays out position of shipment.
- Determines routing and legal load limits of trucks according to established schedules and weight limits of states.
- Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications and seals loaded boxcars and truck doors.
- Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair.
- Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
- Computes amount of material required to complete job orders applying knowledge of production and manufacturing processes.
- Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records such as material inventory in process production reports scrap reports and status and location of materials.
- Coordinates transportation of incoming and outgoing materials assist shipping personnel with variety of shipping documents such as invoices custom documents etc.
- Expedite critical orders.
- Maintain target inventory level for raw and finished good products cycle counting and physical inventory.
- Review and audit freight bills for billing accuracy. Respond to billing inquiries from external payment services.
- Complete all relevant and required documentation prior to shift ending.
- Other duties as assigned by the management team
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of shipping/receiving experience or any equivalent combination of experience
- Knowledge of TS16949/ ISO 14001
- Proven experience working independently with the ability to prioritizeworkloadin a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of education in Materials Management or related experience
- Experience in steel or distribution of metals
