Reporting: Marketing & Communications Director
Position Overview
This role leads integrated marketing initiatives in Japan with PR as the core function to drive brand awareness and convert it into business results. Working closely with cross-functional teams (Digital CRM Events etc.) and the Retail team the position focuses on optimizing the customer journey and maximizing commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
PR Strategy Planning & Execution
- Build and strengthen media relationships
- Maximize press coverage and establish clear brand positioning
- Develop and execute influencer and celebrity strategies
- Ensure consistency of brand messaging across all communications
Marketing Strategy Development & Activation
- Design customer journeys leveraging PR exposure (awareness store/EC traffic purchase)
- Develop and manage annual and seasonal marketing calendars
- Localize global initiatives to fit the Japanese market
- Plan and execute initiatives directly contributing to sales traffic and customer acquisition
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution
- Work closely with Digital CRM and Events teams to deliver integrated campaigns
- Ensure alignment and effectiveness across all communication channels
- Manage and coordinate external agencies
Retail Collaboration & Revenue Generation
- Partner with the Retail team to drive store traffic and conversion
- Plan and maximize the impact of in-store events and campaigns
- Continuously improve initiatives through PDCA based on store feedback
Performance Management & Optimization
- Define and track KPIs (brand awareness traffic sales performance)
- Analyze campaign effectiveness and propose improvements from an ROI perspective
- Optimize performance across all channels
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience in PR
- Experience within luxury brands
- Proven experience in planning and executing marketing initiatives
- Native-level Japanese and business-level English
