Head High School Girls Tennis Coach

Position Title:Head Girls Tennis Coach
Location:Liberal High School
Reports To:Athletic Director
Employment Type:Part-Time

Position Summary

Liberal High School is seeking a knowledgeable organized and student-focused Head Girls Tennis Coach to lead and grow a competitive tennis program. The Head Coach will be responsible for developing student-athletes skills fostering a positive team culture and promoting sportsmanship accountability and academic success.

Key Responsibilities

Plan organize and lead all practices matches and team events
Develop individual and team training programs to improve skill development and match performance
Create lineups and competitive strategies for meets and tournaments
Foster a positive disciplined and team-oriented culture
Promote sportsmanship character development and academic accountability
Coordinate team travel scheduling and match logistics
Communicate effectively with student-athletes parents administration and staff
Manage equipment uniforms and program needs
Ensure compliance with school district and state/activity association rules and policies
Supervise and support assistant coaches (if applicable)
Monitor athlete eligibility and academic progress

Qualifications

Previous tennis coaching or competitive playing experience preferred
Strong knowledge of tennis fundamentals rules and match strategy
Ability to teach and develop players of varying skill levels
Strong leadership organization and communication skills
Commitment to building a positive and inclusive team environment
Availability for after-school practices matches and occasional weekend tournaments
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Must meet all district employment and background check requirements

Preferred Qualifications

Prior high school or competitive coaching experience
Experience organizing tournaments or managing a tennis program
Background in player development and skill progression
