Shift: Evening Shift (12-hour shifts)
- 10:45 AM 11:15 PM and/or 2:45 PM 3:15 AM
On-Call: Required based on patient volume
Position Summary
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency setting following established emergency nursing standards. This role involves rapid assessment triage and treatment of patients across all age groupsfrom neonates to geriatricswhile responding effectively to urgent and emergent conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Duties
- Perform triage and prioritize patient care based on clinical urgency and patient needs.
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Implement and evaluate nursing interventions to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Manage emergency situations and complications in accordance with clinical standards and protocols.
- Monitor and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
Documentation & Monitoring
- Document patient histories chief complaints and clinical findings accurately.
- Record patient responses to treatments and interventions.
- Perform regular rounding and continuous monitoring of patients in the ED.
Patient & Family Education
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans prior to initiation.
- Provide clear discharge instructions and ensure understanding of care plans.
- Guide patients on follow-up care and health status.
Coordination & Teamwork
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Serve as a liaison between patients families and healthcare staff.
- Maintain professional clear and compassionate communication at all times.
Minimum Requirements
Licensure & Certifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License Pennsylvania
- BLS (Basic Life Support) American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) AHA
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) AHA
- NIHSS (Stroke Scale Certification)
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Strong triage and emergency care skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in high-stress environments
- Excellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making ability
- Effective teamwork and collaboration skills
