Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Defines and drives the strategic direction of CT/AMI design teams aligning it with Philips CT and R&D overarching objectives and long-term vision while providing greater depth and insight into emerging trends and opportunities.

  • Governs the end-to-end implementation of systems architecture and design with a keen focus on system funtion performance cost reliability risk management compliance and cybersecurity as well as thorough design verfication validation and transfer to ensure successful introduction and sustaining of high quality manufactural serviceable and reliable products in the compliant way.

  • Coordinates cross-functional efforts to design develop and deliver cutting-edge product and solutions that not only meet but exceed the evolving needs of the customers anticipating future requirements and market trends.

  • Authorizes policies procedures and standards to govern all aspects of systems development implementation and maintenance with a focus on setting industry-leading benchmarks and best practices.

  • Drive system design functional excellence bridging user and business need and R&D technology affordability. Define and execute process improvement activities on system design.

  • Champions a culture of engineering excellence and innovation within the department empowering and inspiring leaders at all levels to pursue ambitious goals and drive transformative change.

  • Evaluates and integrates emerging technologies and trends into Philips CT portfolio drives systems design approaches to open new markets leading strategic initiatives that drive sustainable competitive advantage and market differentiation.

  • Leads succession planning and comprehensive talent development driving employee selection performance management compensation management and career development in alignment with organizational operational goals.

  • Communicates effectively with stakeholders peer groups and the team providing strategic insights and recommendations that shape the organizations broader technology roadmap and investment priorities that can help create significant business opportunities.

  • Establish close relationships with other R&D departments ensure development is balanced and efficient across technologies and platforms. Maintain relationships with external partners like suppliers and customers and internal colleagues such as Innovation Operations Customer Service Procurement and Marketing.


Minimum required Education:
Masters degree or above in a technical domain Physics Electrical Engineering Electronic Engineering Mechanical Engineering Computer Science Engineering or equivalent with strong experience of design/development at system level as System Architecture or System Design Engineer.

Minimum required Experience:

  • 10 years of experience as a technical leader and engineering function manager responsible for a sizable engineering team expertise within the medical domain will be considered a plus

  • Strong expertise and experience of product development program management risk management and defect management and proficiency in management tools and procedures for setting and tracking performance quality time and cost

  • Technical skills in (model driven) software engineering and hardware including modularity and platform development.

  • Proven x-function leadership to drive success in a global company.

How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the companys facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the companys main facilities generally at the customers or suppliers locations.
