About the Role:

The Senior Investigator role sits withinThe Central Complaints & Investigations team (within Operations Portfolio) andis responsible forthe full range of complaints &investigationsto all teams of the RMIT University Group. The teamhaveexpertiseininternal integrity investigations and complaints.

What Youwill do:

  • Lead and manage complex investigations involving studentsstaffandmembers of the public.

  • Develop collaborative working relationships with stakeholderstoprovidea high levelofexpert advice for complex complaints and investigations.

  • Prepare andmaintainspecialisedprocedures guidelines and documents to supportmanageanddocument case outcomes including but not limited to correspondence disciplinary letters memosand investigation reports.

  • Provideexpert reports and insights to the Associate Director Complaints& Investigations forreporting to relevant governance and oversight bodies at the University and external regulatoryauthorities as.

  • Ensure case management knowledgeremainscurrent with legislative changes case law and bestpractice through briefingsseminarsand professional development.

About You

You are an experiencedsenior investigator with strong provenproficiencymanagingmultiplecases of misconductwithincomplex environmentswiththe ability to partner effectively with stakeholders to deliversoundevidencebasedinvestigations.

To be successful in this positionyoullhave:

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering professional complaints and investigation management solutions in a large complex organisation.

  • Demonstrated experience as a subject matter expert managing complex stakeholders involved in the complaints and investigation process.

  • Highly developed interpersonal written and verbal communication skills including negotiation influencing skills client correspondence reportingwritingand presentation skills.

  • Proven ability in providingaccurateandtimelyresolutions to investigations through multiple channels.

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding in managing cases of misconduct specifically experienceregardinginvestigations offraud corruptionbullying harassment sexual harassment discrimination disputes grievances theft & conflict of interest.

  • Must have good understanding and experienceregardinghow unfair dismissals general protectionsclaims ill and injured workers and managing performance willimpactthe conduct investigation process.

  • Proven ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and to prioritise multiple tasks to meet conflicting deadlines.

  • Proven ability tomaintainconfidentiality and build trust to deal with sensitive anddifficult situationsin a diplomatic manner.

  • Proven ability in the use of a range of computer applications including Microsoft Office Programs and the ability to quickly learnnew technologies. Desirable but not essential is experienced with ServiceNowSalesforceand Workday.

  • Demonstrated experience in driving continuous improvement in managing complaints and investigations.

  • Highly experienced resolution focused individual who has a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.

  • Provenexperienceasaninvestigator orconductingcase managementasapartofaHR Business Partnering or Employee Relations role.
