An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Restaurant Manager to lead the front-of-house at one of Oxfordshires most highly regarded destination gastro pubs Michelin Recommended and holder of 3 AA Rosettes.
This is a rare chance to step into a serious food-led operation within a relaxed independent pub setting where standards are high but service remains warm natural and unforced.
The Role
You will take full responsibility for the front-of-house operation leading a small professional team and delivering service that reflects the venues Michelin and Rosette recognition.
You will:
- Lead service from the floor with presence control and attention to detail
- Deliver a polished yet relaxed guest experience
- Maintain standards aligned with 3 Rosette / Michelin-level dining
- Train mentor and develop the FOH team
- Manage reservations pacing and overall service flow
- Oversee wine service and support ongoing team training
- Work closely with the Head Chef and owners to ensure seamless delivery
- Drive consistency standards and overall guest satisfaction
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a high-quality environment but values genuine hospitality over formality.
The Venue
- Michelin Recommended gastro pub
- 3 AA Rosette standard kitchen and service
- Seasonal produce-led British menus
- Strong wine offering with a focus on pairing and guest engagement
- Independent owner-led business with a loyal and destination-driven clientele
The style is refined but relaxed high standards without stiffness.
Working Pattern
- 5 days per week (WednesdaySunday operation)
- Closed Monday & Tuesday
- Additional half-day off (typically Thursday lunch)
- Start around 11:00am finishing approx. 10:00pm most days
- Sunday finish circa 4:30pm
This is a genuinely balanced rota for a role at this level.

- Current Restaurant Manager or strong Assistant Manager ready to step up
- Background in 3 Rosette Michelin Guide or equivalent quality environments

- A natural host with warmth personality and professionalism
