Job Summary
Role Summary Were hiring a mid-to-senior level frontend developer contractor to help build maintain and evolve The Delish Design System our internal design system and component library used across multiple internal applications. This role focuses on creating reusable UI components creating and maintaining documentation on our Storybook site and ensuring consistency across applications using React TypeScript HTML CSS and Git. The ideal candidate has experience contributing to shared UI component libraries or design systems and understands how to translate design concepts into scalable reusable frontend architecture. This role will work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure that components are accessible production-ready and easy for other developers to use.
Responsibilities Design implement test and maintain reusable UI components and patterns using React and TypeScript Styled-Components and/or FluentUI. Contribute to the development and evolution of the organizations component library and design system. Ensure components are accessible (WCAG compliant) responsive performant and cross-browser compatible. Translate Figma designs and design tokens into production-ready components and consistent theming. Maintain component library tooling packaging (npm) CI/CD for releases and semantic versioning practices. Create and maintain clear documentation and Storybook demos for consuming teams. Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues in applications consuming the component library.
Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of professional frontend development experience. Strong proficiency with React (functional components and hooks) and TypeScript. Solid HTML5 and CSS3 skills including responsive design and cross-browser compatibility. Experience using Git in collaborative development environments (branching strategies pull requests merges). Demonstrable experience building or maintaining reusable UI components or component libraries. Experience translating Figma designs into production-ready components. Strong communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with FluentUI MaterialUI or other enterprise UI frameworks. Familiarity with styled-components or other CSS-in-JS solutions and theming approaches. Experience publishing and maintaining packages via Github Packages. Experience using Storybook or similar tools for component documentation and development. Experience with automated UI testing tools such as Jest and React Testing Library. Experience implementing semantic versioning and CI/CD processes for package releases.
Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has experience contributing to or owning a shared UI component library used across multiple applications. They care deeply about developer experience consistency and scalability of UI systems. They are comfortable collaborating with designers and engineers to translate design intent into flexible reusable components and maintain alignment between Figma and production code. They take ownership of their work proactively improve documentation and tooling and build components that make other developers more productive.
