We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Supervisor who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels under pressure. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator highly organized and capable of managing diverse responsibilities while consistently meeting deadlines. This role offers the opportunity to support a variety of responsibilities within a collaborative fast-paced team in a growing company.

The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for sourcing negotiating purchasing and tracking materials supplies and equipment while maintaining effective communication across the organization.

This role requires strong communication and analytical skills to manage inventory and receiving processes adhere to forecasts and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Source identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality terms cost delivery and service.
  • Lead the purchasing agents and guide the receiving team according to set rules and planning.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to ensure best value for the organization.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders to suppliers ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all procurement activities including supplier contracts pricing and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor and track inventory levels to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
  • Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends product advancements and pricing changes to ensure the organization remains competitive.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the Purchasing/Accounting Finance teams to ensure timely and accurate information.
  • Willingness to learn other responsibilities: logistics planning guiding transition projects from one supplier to a new supplier (plan schedule and communicate when vendor equipment needs to be replaced by new vendor equipment).
  • Requires the ability to seamlessly navigate across multiple entities locations and product groups without error.
  • Duties responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.

Education Skills and Experience:

  • 5 years experience in Procurement environment.
  • Bachelors degree in Business or Finance a plus or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have experience dealing with international vendors and sea/air shipment and imports.
  • Experience with purchasing software SAP experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office programs.
  • Prior experience in Agriculture industry preferred
  • Inventory Control experience preferred.

  • This exempt position is full-time with an expected workweek of approximately 40 hours. Additional hours may be required to meet business needs.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Willing to become forklift certified
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Bilingual is preferable.
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must pass federal background check.
