Job Description
- Engineers are responsible for installing maintaining and repairing protection and control systems used to monitor protection systems in power substations.
- The role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles along with computer skills to install repair and maintain systems including microprocessor relays programmable logic controllers (PLCs) sensors pumps and motors.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Install maintain and troubleshoot protection and control relaying and associated devices.
- Perform calibration of various types of protection and control relays and devices.
- Assist in creating and maintaining protection and control documentation.
- Assist assigned project lead with field assignments. Install program and maintain protection and control relays and devices.
- Participate in process hazard analyses.
- Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 4-year BS Engineering Degree (Electrical preferred).
- 0 3 years experience in Engineering or similar role.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Working knowledge of PLCs and HMIs.
- Experience with AC and DC systems. Successful candidate must live within a reasonable commute to the assigned Client office location.
