Health & Safety Officer Estates Department
Location: Central Services
Salary: 30000 (plus car allowance)
Reporting to: Estates Director
Progression: Yes

What youll be doing:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation including the Health and Safety at Work Act RIDDOR COSHH PUWER LOLER and Fire Safety regulations
- Develop review and maintain policies procedures and risk assessments
- Work closely with maintenance and operational teams to implement safe systems of work including permits isolation procedures and contractor controls
- Conduct site inspections audits and monitoring activities across multiple locations
- Lead and support incident reporting and investigations producing clear reports with root cause analysis
- Deliver training toolbox talks and briefings to staff at all levels
- Promote a positive and proactive safety culture across the organisation
- Support managers and teams with practical health and safety advice
- Maintain accurate audit-ready records and produce reports for senior leadership
- Act as the main contact for external health and safety consultants and support annual inspections
Who you are:
- You have a strong understanding of UK health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
- You are confident working in environments such as healthcare estates facilities or other operational settings
- You are an excellent communicator able to engage with frontline teams and senior leadership
- You are organised proactive and able to manage multiple priorities independently
- You are analytical with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- You are confident delivering training and influencing a positive safety culture
- You are a team player who is approachable supportive and solutions-focused
- Desirable:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards)
- IOSH membership (TechIOSH/GradIOSH)
- Experience within health and social care or similar regulated environments
- Training or Train the Trainer qualification
