Job Summary
North Star Windows & Doors (St. Thomas Ontario) is hiring a motivated team player with a strong safety focus and willingness to learn to join our Production Team.
As part of the team your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Assemble fabricate and inspect windows and doors to meet quality standards and specifications
- Review work orders prepare materials and safely operate hand tools power tools saws and automated equipment
- Assemble components including frames glass units hardware seals and screens
- Operate production equipment such as saws pneumatic tools and welding machinery
- Inspect finished products and report defects or quality concerns
- Prepare products for shipment including labeling packing and loading
- Participate in 5S activities and continuous improvement initiatives
- Contribute ideas to improve safety quality and efficiency
- Support quality standards and help ensure products meet customer requirements
- Work respectfully and collaboratively as part of a team
- Support the team in achieving production and performance targets
- Follow direction of leadership and continuously verify quality through measurement.
- Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications :
- Previous experience with general labour/construction/manufacturing is preferred.
- Willing to train but must have a great attitude strong work ethic and reliable
- Standing for up to 9 hours lifting/maneuvering of products required (medium to heavy lifting 30-50lbs)
- Handling of materials (manual dexterity required)
- Experience using power tools and hand-tools
- Ability to read a tape measure with accuracy and precision
- Safety-conscious and detail oriented.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada and 18-yrs of age or older
- Must be available to work two week shift rotation schedule (day shift- 6AM- 3:30PM; afternoon shift- 3:45PM-1:15 AM)
- Must be available to work Overtime
- Must be able to work Saturday shifts when required (dependent on incoming orders and business demands)
