Deputy Associate Superblock Director for Compliance and Assurance Active Secuirty Clearance Required

Job Summary
We have an opening for a Deputy Associate Superblock Director for Compliance and Assurance. You will be responsible for assisting in the oversight and management of key compliance and assurance programs within the Superblock. The Superblock consists of Hazard Category 2 and Category 3 non-reactor nuclear facilities and radiological facilities at Site 200 in Livermore California. You will provide operational leadership for functional areas including Conduct of Operations Assurance Quality Assurance Continuing Education and Onboarding Integrated Safety and Document Management. This position reports to the Associate Superblock Director (ASD) for Compliance and Assurance. This position resides in the Superblock organization within the Strategic Deterrence Directorate.
This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work.
In this role you will
- Provide operational leadership and technical direction to ensure sustained compliance with DOE Orders as well as applicable federal state and local laws and regulations.
- Assist the ASD for Compliance and Assurance in fostering a culture of safety quality and operational excellence across the organization.
- Directly manage the implementation and execution of functional areas working closely with technical staff leaders and managers to ensure alignment with institutional objectives.
- Support the development and day-to-day management of budgets schedules and performance standards to meet Laboratory requirements.
- Represent the ASD for Compliance and Assurance in collaborations with stakeholders and senior leadership to ensure the successful attainment of mission deliverables.
- Execute continuous improvement initiatives and manage assessment processes including the tracking of metrics to ensure organizational goals are met.
- Lead the optimization of policies procedures and processes within nuclear facilities to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
- Ensure Superblock personnel are provided with the requisite training resources and tools to execute programmatic work safely and efficiently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- This position requires an active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or active Top Secret clearance issued by another U.S. government agency at the time of hire.
- Bachelors degree in a Science Engineering or another technical area or the equivalent combination of education and related experience with significant experience resolving complex problems.
- Extensive experience managing work in highly complex technical programs at DOE commercial or Navy nuclear facilities.
- Extensive knowledge of DOE policies procedures regulations and standards including DOE Order 420.1C Facility Safety DOE Order 422.1 Conduct of Operations DOE Order 430.1C Real Property Asset Management DOE Order 433.1B Maintenance Management Program for DOE Nuclear Facilities and DOE Order 425.1 Verification of Readiness to Startup or Restart Nuclear Facilities.
- Experience managing technical organizations or complex functional areas to meet institutional and customer requirements.
- Experience interacting with and negotiating on matters of significance to the organization including leadership and management skills to champion innovative directions and influence the development of institutional goals and objectives.
- Experience in performance management and supervision of technical scientific and administrative staff including performance issues career development annual performance appraisals and salary management.
- Experience implementing operational goals for technical programs.
Qualifications We Desire
- Masters degree in Science Engineering or Business Administration.
- Previous or current NQA-1 Lead Auditor qualification.
- Experience establishing and implementing strategic policies and procedures within nuclear programs and implementing successful methods and techniques.
- Advanced knowledge and experience developing continuous improvement initiatives in quality operational safety and efficiency while encouraging process improvement throughout the workforce.
- Demonstrated knowledge of leadership management and organizational development principles and methods applied to the direction of a broad organization.
Pay Range
$282210 - $359700 Annually
This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employees position within the salary range will be based on several factors including but not limited to specific competencies relevant education qualifications certifications experience skills seniority geographic location performance and business or organizational needs.
