Under direct supervision this position provides support to project management team by organizing various projects contract agreements and programs. Participates in the development of a project and provides support in scheduling budgeting and implementation phases of the project.


Job Description:

Duties Functions and Responsibilities:

Essential duties and functions pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

  • Assists in planning stage of projects including the coordination of existing bonds and future bond projects.
  • Assists in planning scheduling or coordination of project activities to meet deadlines.
  • Provides assistance in creation of a communication plan to field staff including Project Managers and Project Coordinators.
  • Creates and maintains project progress monitoring data to track each project.
  • Coordinates status updates for project related matters including providing updates to internal and external customers.
  • Updates and maintains schedule data to ensure project consistency and optimization.
  • Assists in resolution of project issues including any potential risks to team members by providing supporting documentation including policies and procedures.
  • Communicates roles expectations and accountabilities to all team members on a regular basis.
  • Advises management of problems issues and status of ongoing projects.
  • Provides assistance to ensure established project deadlines and related tasks are completed as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation with a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a related field plus one (1) year of relevant work experience.
  • Experience may substitute for education up to the maximum of four (4) years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience conducting outreach marketing or sales to small-and medium-businesses.
  • Experience with energy efficiency building construction or property management.
  • Experience engaging with contractors city departments and other community stakeholders.
  • Experience with customer relationship management software or workflow management software.
  • Experience creating and analyzing large data sets to identify target customer types.
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations for regular job duties


Notes to Candidate:

This temporary position will lead outreach and project development with local small-and medium-businesses to increase participation in Austin Energy incentive programs. The Energy Efficiency Services group is responsible for the allocation of over $20 million/year in incentives that support high-efficiency HVAC lighting and other building upgrades that improve comfort lower bills and support a more resilient electric grid. This position will engage with local business customers to provide energy education and support evaluation of energy efficiency upgrades. Funding for this temporary position is available until 9/30/26.

Primary duties will include:

  • Deliver a marketing and outreach campaign that increases adoption of energy efficiency technologies and services for small-and medium-business customers.
  • Provide on-site or virtual visits to promote Austin Energy programs and offerings.
  • Monitor leads and project status in coordination with Austin Energy project leads and engineers.
  • Engage with key stakeholders including community and business groups; installation contractors; and equipment manufacturers or distributors.
  • Lead and support analysis that identifies and targets key customer groups based on energy usage building types business type etc.

This position has been designated as aCritical Employeeposition. Critical Employees are considered necessary and vital and supports activities that impact City or department operations. This work can be done while at a designated work site or while working at an alternate work location. Critical employees who are able to work at an alternative work location are required to do so. Schedules may be modified and employees may be reassigned to another area during extraordinary situations or emergency conditions to provide essential services.

Work Schedule/Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (60% telework allowed)

Salary Range: $29.89 per hour (low) to $37.37 per hour (mid)
