Position Overview
Trinity Healthcare Talent Services is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a state-run developmental center in Columbus OH.
This is a flexible part-time role focused on evaluating and treating individuals with speech language cognitive and swallowing disorders.

- Setting: Long-term care / developmental disabilities
- Schedule: Flexible hours (part-time)
- Work Week: Monday Friday
- Weekends: Not required
Work Schedule Flexibility
Choose from multiple options:
- 23 full days (8 hrs) per week
- OR 45 shorter shifts
- May start with full-time hours initially (40 hrs) then transition to part-time
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Evaluation
- Conduct evaluations for:
- Speech & language disorders
- Cognitive-linguistic function
- Swallowing (dysphagia)
- Social/pragmatic communication
- Assess need for AAC (augmentative communication devices)
Therapy & Treatment
- Develop and implement:
- Individual therapy plans
- Group therapy sessions
- Provide therapy for:
- Communication disorders
- Swallowing impairments
- Functional life communication skills
Specialized Interventions
- Train patients in:
- AAC devices
- Communication strategies
- Daily functional communication (social settings routines)
- Recommend:
- Diet modifications
- Referrals and diagnostic testing (e.g. swallow studies)
Collaboration
- Work with:
- Physicians
- Interdisciplinary care teams
- Caregivers and family members
- Provide staff training and education
Documentation
- Maintain:
- Therapy plans
- Progress notes
- Patient records
- Ensure compliance with state and facility guidelines
Required Qualifications
Active SLP License (Ohio preferred)
Experience in:
- Speech & language therapy
- Dysphagia management
Strong documentation & communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with developmental disabilities
AAC device experience
Rehab / LTC / SNF background
