Schedule: Day Shift 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (Occasional 10:00 AM 6:30 PM)
Position Overview
Trinity Healthcare Talent Services is seeking a Travel Physical Therapist (PT) for an Acute Inpatient role at Mercy Hospital Southwest Bakersfield.
This position involves working across multiple acute care units including Med/Surg ICU and ER treating a diverse patient population with orthopedic neurological and general medical conditions.
Facility Information

Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (POC)
- Treat patients with conditions such as:
- Total knee/hip replacements (TKA/THA)
- Stroke (CVA)
- Spinal surgeries
- General deconditioning
- Provide:
- Gait training
- Mobility and strength training
- Functional rehabilitation
- Work across units: Med/Surg ICU ER
- Manage 12 patients per day
- Document patient care using Cerner EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
Clinical Highlights

- Diverse caseload (ortho neuro ICU exposure)

- No PTA support (independent practice)
Scheduling Details
- Standard: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
- Occasional: 10:00 AM 6:30 PM
- Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
- (With Friday & Monday off)
- Holiday Requirement: None
Required Qualifications
Active California PT License
BLS Certification (AHA required)
Acute Inpatient PT experience (MANDATORY)
Preferred Qualifications
ICU or ER experience
Strong orthopedic and neuro rehab skills
Experience working independently
Compliance Notes
Floating required across units
Must be comfortable handling full caseload independently
Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts per contract
