Where youll be working
Youll join therenal service at Manning Hospital in Taree a riverside location known for its strong community spirit on the beautifulBarrington Coast between mountains and ocean. Our passionate team of2024 diverse Registered Nurses (RNs) and Enrolled Nurses (ENs)delivers patient-centred care across22 chairs in three units: theNita Reed Renal Unit(10-bed outpatient/community space)Foster Satellite Unit(6-bed service for stable dialysis patients) andLevel 3 Dialysis Ward. With a warm inclusive culture celebrating milestones through afternoon teas this dynamic team values each other and their patients all withno night shifts.
About the role
AsNurse Unit Manager (NUM) Level 1 youll provide clinical leadership across the three dialysis units working closely with theNUM Level 3 and Renal Coordinator. Youll ensure high-quality well-planned patient care that meets current nursing standards andHunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD)policies while efficiently managing clinical operations resources staff coordination audits and budget on a shift-by-shift basis.
Youll feel confident from day one withstrong leadership supportfrom theClinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs) and Nurse Unit Managers (NUMs) plusbuddying with senior RNs structured orientation and access toongoing professional developmentto advance your career.
About you
Youre a compassionate strategic leader who thrives in dynamic team environments and is passionate about renal nursing and patient outcomes. You bring strong clinical expertise the ability to inspire competence and safety in your team and a commitment to resource-efficient high-quality care.
You bring:
- Current AHPRA registration as Registered Nurse (RN)
- Relevant renal/dialysis clinical experience
- Demonstratedleadership and management capabilityin clinical settings
- Strong knowledge ofclinical governance quality/safety standardsand HNELHD policies
- Excellent communication and team coordination skills
- Current NSW drivers licencefor community-based service coordination
Experience in service development quality improvement and change management is desirable and can be developed in the role.
