Job Summary

Project/Position Introduction

Overview

The Indigenous Trainee (School Based) will participate in business as usual activities as part of their learning and development.

Working closely with members of relevant teams the Indigenous Trainee will gain valuable exposure learn new skills and understanding of the day to day workings of a large organisation while completing their Certificate III in Business. The Indigenous trainee will be supported by the Indigenous Program Coordinator Mentors and a dedicated Trainer through their traineeship.

Responsibilities

The traineeship may be centred around some or all of the following:

Marketing and Communications

  • Learn about scheduling and structuring of communication
  • Creating communications and the importance of language styles and platforms for various audiences
  • Review marketing materials and learn about print versus digital marketing
  • Beginning to end of the creation of a marketing product.

Registered Training Organisation

  • Update and maintain accurate participant records in SEE and AMEP systems
  • Update and maintain accurate participant records in Student Management System
  • Exposure to team inboxes
  • Assist with the issuance of statements and certificates
  • Exposure to vocational education and training
  • Exposure to other adult education programs.

Employment Fund

  • Reviewing Employment Fund expenses to ensure compliance
  • Reconciling credit card transactions
  • Claiming Employment Fund expense reimbursements through the Departments IT systems
  • Assisting with the management of Wage Subsidies

IT

  • IT Service Management Ticket Creation
  • Device management (set up testing and shipping)
  • User/ Stakeholder relationship management

Qualifications/Requirements - Mandatory

  • Currently at school enrolled in Year 10 11 or 12 and progressing towards the attainment of a Queensland Certificate of Education or equivalent and/ or a vocational qualification
  • Not currently enrolled or have completed a Certificate III
  • Eligible to gain entry into a school-based traineeship program in Queensland
  • Hold or have the ability to obtain a current Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
