Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Psychology Teacher to join an outstanding sixth form college in Manchester. Role Overview:
As Psychology Teacher you will deliver engaging and academically rigorous lessons primarily at Key Stage 5. You will support students in developing their understanding of psychological theories research methods and evaluation skills. The role requires careful planning effective assessment and the ability to foster independent learning. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high teaching standards and contribute to continuous curriculum improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver structured and engaging psychology lessons in line with examination specifications.

  • Teach Key Stage 5 psychology supporting students in understanding key theories case studies and research methods.

  • Assess student progress regularly and provide clear constructive feedback to support improvement.

  • Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations.

  • Develop lesson resources and contribute to departmental curriculum planning.

  • Encourage critical thinking independent study skills and academic confidence.

  • Maintain accurate records of student achievement attendance and progress.

  • Participate in parents evenings open evenings and departmental meetings.

  • Uphold safeguarding policies and support the wellbeing of all students.

Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Degree in psychology or a closely related discipline.

  • Strong knowledge of Key Stage 5 psychology curriculum and assessment frameworks.

  • Ability to explain complex psychological concepts clearly and effectively.

  • Strong organisational and classroom management skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate post-16 learners.

  • Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining high teaching standards.
