Food Technology Teacher Permanent Role
Location: Braintree Essex
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)
Local Education is proud to be supporting a well-regarded secondary school in Braintree in their search for a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join them on a permanent basis from September 2025.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-thinking DT department that values creativity practical learning and student engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4 inspiring students to develop life skills and a love for cooking and nutrition.
What Youll Be Doing:
Planning and delivering engaging Food Tech lessons aligned to the national curriculum
Assessing and tracking student progress
Managing classroom behaviour effectively
Contributing to curriculum development and extra-curricular activities
Ensuring a safe and well-maintained food preparation environment
Were Looking For Someone With:
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
A specialism or strong experience in teaching Food Technology
The ability to plan differentiated lessons and support students of all abilities
Strong classroom management and communication skills
A passion for practical hands-on learning
