Position Summary
Enfield Public Schools is seeking a knowledgeable and collaborative Math Consultant to support high-quality mathematics instruction at the elementary level. The Math Consultant will work closely with district leaders building administrators and classroom teachers to strengthen instructional practices curriculum implementation and student outcomes in mathematics.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide job-embedded professional learning and instructional coaching to elementary educators
- Support the implementation of the districts mathematics curriculum aligned to Connecticut Core Standards
- Model effective mathematics instruction and co-plan lessons with classroom teachers
- Analyze student achievement data to inform instructional planning and targeted supports
- Collaborate with curriculum leaders and school-based teams to support continuous improvement
- Assist in the development selection and refinement of instructional materials and assessments
- Promote equitable and inclusive instructional practices to meet the needs of all learners
Instructional Best Practices
The Math Consultant will support and promote instructional practices that include:
- Standards-aligned conceptually rich mathematics instruction
- Emphasis on problem-solving reasoning and mathematical discourse
- Use of multiple representations and instructional strategies
- Differentiation to support diverse learners including multilingual learners and students with disabilities
- Data-informed instruction and use of formative assessment
- Culturally responsive and student-centered teaching practices
Certification Requirement
- Connecticut State Department of Education Certification:
- 305 Elementary Education (PK6)
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in elementary mathematics instruction
- Experience in instructional coaching professional learning or curriculum leadership preferred
- Strong communication collaboration and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with teachers administrators and district-level staff
