JOB SUMMARY
The Service Technician - Appliance at Nonns Flooring LLC is responsible for diagnosing repairing and installing appliances in both residential and commercial settings. Delivers high-quality customer service while managing daily service routes communicating with customers and completing accurate service documentation. Supports warehouse operations and team needs as required in a fast-paced field-based environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Travel to residential and commercial customer locations to diagnose repair and service appliances including units both in and out of warranty.
- Review daily service orders and plan routes based on efficiency and customer needs.
- Communicate with customers regarding scheduling arrival times and any service updates or changes.
- Deliver high-quality customer service while completing repairs.
- Communicate with management regarding technical support needs and parts requests.
- Complete accurate service documentation including time worked repairs performed and applicable appliance details (model and serial number).
- Safely lift and move appliances and related equipment as needed to complete repairs.
- Support warehouse inventory efforts to ensure parts availability.
- Assist with appliance delivery and installation as needed.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma GED or equivalent.
- 2 years of repair experience related to the position; 5 years preferred.
- Experience in customer service and/or supporting project teams.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid drivers license with an acceptable motor vehicle record at time of hire and throughout employment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers team members and management to complete service requests provide updates and maintain accurate documentation.
- Basic math skills required to take measurements calculate fractions and percentages and perform standard unit conversions related to job tasks.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
- Stationary Position: Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Mobility: Frequently required to move between warehouse areas and customer locations including residential and commercial job sites.
- Lifting/Carrying: Frequently lifts and/or moves items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Positioning: May be required to position oneself to perform repairs and installations including bending stooping kneeling crouching or working in confined spaces.
- Manual Dexterity: Frequently operates tools equipment and standard office and warehouse technology.
- Communication: Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information with customers team members and management in a variety of environments.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.
- Warehouse/Facility: Regularly works in a warehouse environment that may not be climate-controlled and may include exposure to noise equipment and moving materials.
- Job Site/Field: Frequent travel to residential and commercial job sites with exposure to outdoor weather conditions and varying work environments.
- Travel: Frequent local travel required to customer locations including driving in various weather and road conditions
