Job Summary

Rugby Architectural Building Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty building products operating out of twenty-six branches throughout the United States. Our primary business is architectural grade building products sold principally to customers who create and produce end-products for the commercial industrial retail residential and institutional markets. We also fabricate and distribute doors and specialty millwork products in eight of our branch locations. (In New Century KS Lebanon TN and Rockford IL we do business as: Olathe Millwork Warren Brothers and River City Millwork respectfully.

We are growing and seeking an Area Manager for our Northeast Region Stoughton MA Carlstadt NJ Greenvale NY.

Position Summary: The Area Manager provides strategic direction and leadership for a regional team nested within the corporate strategy set by the Vice Presidents. The Area Manager orchestrates the implementation and execution of strategic objectives across the region ensuring seamless alignment with organizational goals.

The Area Manager will foster relationships with key customers suppliers and vendors and play a pivotal role in business growth. This role embodies the core tenets of the Rugby culture our entrepreneurial ethos and champions the values of integrity fairness and pursuit of excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive regional strategies to drive business growth.
  • Provide direction purpose and motivation to staff Branch Managers and Region in order to execute our mission develop your employees and improve the organization.
  • Oversee regional operations sales and inventory management leveraging key metrics for success.
  • Analyze financial performance with full P & L accountability driving proactive adjustments as needed.
  • Cultivate and expand the regional business footprint through strategic initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the Branch Teams empowering them to excel in implementing strategic objectives.
  • Anticipate and adapt to market shifts ensuring business continuity through adjustments.
  • Optimize organizational structure to meet evolving business demands.
  • Mentor team members facilitating individual staff growth and robust succession planning.
  • Uphold and refine policies and procedures to meet organizational standards.
  • Forge and fortify strategic alliances with customers vendors and suppliers.
  • Serve as the organizations ambassador at key industry events

Knowledge Skills & Experience:

  • 5 years of distribution or manufacturing management experience including sales management and business development responsibilities.
  • Candidate must have a documented track record in successful management and sales growth.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly entrepreneurial de-centralized high-accountability and performance-driven culture.
  • Proven experience providing branded and generic products in a B2B environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal written presentation) including the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of an organization both internally and externally.
  • Proven customer relationship building skills both internally and externally with outstanding negotiation skills.
  • Experience with physical inventory and cycle counting procedures
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook.
  • Outstanding project management and organizational skills with the ability to work across multiple functions in an organization.
  • Excellent forecasting and reporting skills.
  • Strong management problem-solving and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to successfully lead large-scale departmental or company-wide initiatives.
  • Ability to teach train and cultivate future leaders for the organization.
  • Must have an intense passion for success and growth.
  • Knowledge of Agility software a plus

Role includes 25% travel.
