The Director Private Credit Financing will serve as a senior execution and credit lead within the Private Credit Financing (PCF) platform. The role is responsible for daytoday structuring execution credit diligence documentation review and ongoing monitoring of private credit financing transactions working closely with the Private Credit Financing team and internal risk partners.
The position is designed to support the scaling of the Private Credit Financing business as transaction volumes and complexity increase while maintaining appropriate underwriting standards structural discipline and risk oversight. The Director will play a critical role in reducing execution bottlenecks acting as a second line of defense on credit and structure and enabling the platform to run multiple complex transactions in parallel.
Group Overview
The Private Credit Financing team sits within Global Markets Global Origination and is responsible for originating structuring and executing secured financing solutions for private credit managers asset managers insurance platforms and other institutional investors.
Key Areas of Accountability
Transaction Execution & Structuring:
- Act as primary daytoday execution lead on private credit financing transactions
- Structure and maintain complex borrowing bases across diversified private credit portfolios
- Analyze collateral eligibility advance rates concentration limits and structural protections
- Coordinate transaction execution across internal stakeholders including Legal Risk Operations and Accounting
- Support agented and nonagented facility execution syndication and amendments
Credit Diligence & Risk Management:
- Perform credit diligence on private credit portfolios
- Serve as a second line of defense on credit structure underwriting quality and documentation
- Identify and escalate emerging risks concentration issues or structural weaknesses
- Support internal credit approvals renewals and ongoing reviews
Documentation Review & Negotiation:
- Lead detailed review and negotiation of term sheets credit agreements and borrowing base definitions
- Ensure documentation accurately reflects approved credit terms risk mitigants and operational mechanics
- Coordinate with internal and external counsel to drive timely and riskappropriate execution
Ongoing Monitoring & Portfolio Management:
- Oversee ongoing monitoring of financed portfolios including borrowing base compliance covenant performance and collateral quality
- Review periodic reporting from borrowers and servicers
- Support amendments and waivers as needed
- Assist with internal management reporting and ad hoc risk inquiries
Team Development & Collaboration:
- Provide training oversight and mentorship to junior team members and matrixed resources
- Partner closely with Corporate Banking Global Structured Finance Risk Legal and Operations
- Support scalability of the platform through process improvement and knowledge transfer
Qualifications
Knowledge:
- Typically between 3 and 5 years of relevant experience and postsecondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Significant experience in private credit financing structured credit or assetbased lending
- Strong understanding of private credit asset classes portfolio construction and risk drivers
- Deep familiarity with borrowing base structures
- Working knowledge of leveraged finance structured lending and secured credit documentation
- Strong understanding of bank credit risk management and approval processes
Skills:
- Proven ability to independently execute and manage complex financing transactions
- Strong credit judgment and attention to structural detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills including modeling and portfolio analysis
- Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously in a fastpaced environment
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior professionals and support team development

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location skills experience education and qualifications for the role and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Groups expected target for the first year in this position.
