The Role:
As a Global Supply Chain Shift Leader you will be responsible for managing and leading a team in one of the key areas within the Global Supply Chain Organization: manufacturing supply chain system processes scheduling and material for developing operational plans or new processes in support of the organizations business strategies with a direct impact on the organizations overall business results.
This position is a people leader position and will have direct reports and will work cross functionally with all of the production teams and support their needs and requirements. Work involves a considerable amount of initiative in decision making and is accompanied by a high level of independent judgment.
What Youll Do (Role Responsibilities):
- Responsible for material flow activity (the physical movement of material from receipt through shipment)
- Audits department records for employees Safety documents Ergonomics Suggestions Grievances Training Vacation Attendance and overtime
- Implements monitors and maintains GMS initiatives
- Supports production organization
- Develops subordinates as well as develops and maintains labor relationships
- Coordinates development of the BPD for floor operations and communicates BPD requirements to staff members
- Participates in department/functional Gap Closures Planning Process
- Provides input into budget development based on annual plans
- Reviews and approves manpower plans (GMOS)
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience in Supply Chain in a manufacturing environment
- 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- High functional capability with supply chain floor systems MGO CSMS PPD etc.
- Strong understanding of supply chain and lean material processes; Logistics (LLP processes) Receiving Internal Material Flow Scrap Obsolescence etc.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Access PowerPoint)
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects effective project planning in terms of resources strategies cost and time with ability to meet project timelines
- Knowledge of work measurement and work standards
- Knowledge of basic manufacturing and assembly processes
- Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise
- This is a 1st shift role but must be able to work off shifts when required
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Prior experience with varied Supply Chain office and floor assignments
- Multi plant and/or multi-functional experience
- Experience/knowledge of GM Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) SLT implementation and execution
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Process (CIP)
