The Role:

As a Global Supply Chain Shift Leader you will be responsible for managing and leading a team in one of the key areas within the Global Supply Chain Organization: manufacturing supply chain system processes scheduling and material for developing operational plans or new processes in support of the organizations business strategies with a direct impact on the organizations overall business results.

This position is a people leader position and will have direct reports and will work cross functionally with all of the production teams and support their needs and requirements. Work involves a considerable amount of initiative in decision making and is accompanied by a high level of independent judgment.

What Youll Do (Role Responsibilities):

  • Responsible for material flow activity (the physical movement of material from receipt through shipment)
  • Audits department records for employees Safety documents Ergonomics Suggestions Grievances Training Vacation Attendance and overtime
  • Implements monitors and maintains GMS initiatives
  • Supports production organization
  • Develops subordinates as well as develops and maintains labor relationships
  • Coordinates development of the BPD for floor operations and communicates BPD requirements to staff members
  • Participates in department/functional Gap Closures Planning Process
  • Provides input into budget development based on annual plans
  • Reviews and approves manpower plans (GMOS)

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience in Supply Chain in a manufacturing environment
  • 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • High functional capability with supply chain floor systems MGO CSMS PPD etc.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and lean material processes; Logistics (LLP processes) Receiving Internal Material Flow Scrap Obsolescence etc.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Access PowerPoint)
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects effective project planning in terms of resources strategies cost and time with ability to meet project timelines
  • Knowledge of work measurement and work standards
  • Knowledge of basic manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise
  • This is a 1st shift role but must be able to work off shifts when required

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Prior experience with varied Supply Chain office and floor assignments
  • Multi plant and/or multi-functional experience
  • Experience/knowledge of GM Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) SLT implementation and execution
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Process (CIP)
