Job Summary:

The Assistant Director of Camp Administration directs the daily operations of Badger Sports Camps including monitoring internal and external customer traffic overseeing participant registration management system marketing and promoting programs and supervising event planning staff to ensure that operations run efficiently economically and in line with department goals and policy.

Job Responsibilities

  • Establishes and executes day-to-day operational functions and goals of all Badger Sports Camps to align with existing strategy
  • Establishes and sustains relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Exercises supervisory authority including hiring training managing conduct and performance scheduling and/or approving hours worked of student staff
  • Identifies proposes and implements new or revised department operational policies and procedures for Badger Sports Camps

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Identifies proposes and implements new or revised unit operational policies and procedures
  • Monitors the budget and approves expenditures
  • Establishes and sustains relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Establishes and executes day-to-day operational functions and goals of events to align with existing strategy
  • May exercise supervisory authority including hiring transferring suspending promoting managing conduct and performance discharging assigning rewarding disciplining and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees

Compensation:

The anticipated starting salary will be $56112 but may be negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Exceptional internal and external customer service skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Ability to handle difficult customer situations.
  • Ability to develop extensive knowledge of camp operational policies procedures and processes.
  • Ability to work independently demonstrating initiative and self-motivation with limited oversight and supervision.
  • Ability to understand and successfully attain project goals and initiatives.
  • Ability to research existing systems or coordinate and oversee the development of camp personnel and registration systems.
  • Ability to understand policies and procedures related to youth protection and incorporate rules/regulations into the automated system.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn IT security in relation to restricted data (HIPAA FERPA HR/SS employee data PCI Compliance etc).
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn graphic design software (InDesign Photoshop)
  • Knowledge of system design and implementation best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in Intercollegiate Athletics camps and/or sport operations.
  • Knowledge of camp registration and/or other personnel management systems.

Education:

Bachelors degree is preferred

Conditions of Appointment: This is a 100% Academic Staff appointment. Salary will be assigned within the appropriate range commensurate with the candidates qualifications and experience.
