Job Summary

The Coordinator of Related Services (Speech and Language Services) provides visionary leadership oversight and coordination for district-wide speech-language pathology. This role ensures high-quality compliant and effective speech and language services for students with disabilities helping them access the curriculum and achieve their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Services: Provide direct and indirect services to EASTCONN operated schools attend PPTs administer evaluations/assessments.
  • District-Wide Scheduling:Coordinate and manage related services scheduling across all assigned schools ensuring compliant and efficient service delivery for students with a range of needs including Autism Multiple Disabilities and other low-incidence populations
  • Medicaid Billing Oversight:Oversee and manage school-based Medicaid billing processes ensuring accuracy compliance and timely submission in accordance with state and federal guidelines
  • Professional Learning & CEU Oversight:Plan coordinate and track professional development and continuing education unit (CEU) requirements for related services staff supporting a culture of growth and best practice
  • SLPA/CFY Supervision: Supervise Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) or CFY candidates providing clinical oversight mentoring and performance support in accordance with ASHA guidelines and state licensure requirements
  • Program Development:Collaborate with building administrators special education teams and outside agencies to support service delivery models including co-treatment co-teaching and consultation

Qualifications

Required:

  • Masters degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology Communication Disorders or a closely related field.
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Valid state license (or eligibility) as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Administrative or supervisory certification (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist in a school setting.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising or leading teams of SLPs or related services providers.
  • Thorough knowledge of IDEA Section 504 and special education procedures.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience as a Coordinator or Supervisor of Student Services.
  • Experience with multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and inclusive practices.
  • Strong data analysis and program evaluation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and leadership abilities.
