Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth were looking to add an Automation Process Engineer located in Guadalajara North Campus.
Reporting to the Equipment Maintenance Manager the Automation Process Engineer is responsible for defining implementing and proliferating automation projects across manufacturing operations acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). This role drives productivity quality and scalability by integrating advanced automation technologies within SMT and Assembly processes ensuring solid ROI safety and long-term operational impact.
What a typical day looks like:
- Define implement and evaluate automation projects that improve manufacturability and operational efficiency.
- Lead automation initiatives from concept to implementation validation and sustainment
- Act as a technical leader within Automation Engineering.
- Identify improvement opportunities between SMT and Assembly processes through automation.
- Implement robots machine vision systems AMRs and custom automation solutions.
- Design and simulate electrical and pneumatic systems using specialized software (e.g. AutoCAD Electrical).
- Create and manage RFQ and SOW documents; build business cases and ROI analysis.
- Lead supplier evaluations quotations follow-ups and automation integrations (cells custom machines full lines).
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Process Engineering Quality Program Management and Leadership.
- Define and track KPIs operational metrics and statistical performance indicators.
- Apply Six Sigma tools GAP analysis and statistical controls.
- Support safety and ergonomics compliance.
- Represent automation solutions internally and with customers.
The experience were looking to add to our team:
- Bachelors degree in Electronics Mechanical Mechatronics Engineering or similar.
- Advanced English (written and spoken).
- Strong experience with automation integration projects in manufacturing environments.
- Experience with screwing processes and automated assembly.
- RFQ & SOW knowledge.
- Knowledge of AMR equipment.
- Experience working with automation suppliers and system integrators.
- Advanced knowledge of Electrical design and debugging (AutoCAD Electrical).
- Experience with Pneumatic design and systems Mechanical design and assembly.
- Knowledge of PLC programming and industrial controls.
- Availability to travel. (10% per year).
