About the job:
Job Purpose & Objectives
To support the BBVA Asia NFR Unit (Second Line of Defense) in governing overseeing and coordinating non-financial risk management across all CIB activities in the geography. The Associate will facilitate alignment with BBVA global standards while addressing specific local regulatory and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Assessment Support: Assist in coordinating the local Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process and the Top-Down Risk Assessment (RA) to ensure a comprehensive view of the geographys risk profile.
NFR Admission Process: Facilitate the admission of new products businesses and services by governing committees managing documentation and streamlining workflows to support business growth.
Control Agenda Coordination: Help build and monitor the local control agenda to address material weaknesses and prioritize risk mitigation along with business and support units.
Monitoring & Reporting: Utilize tools such as Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) Management Limits and Operational Loss analyses to track the risk appetite and provide timely reporting to global and local governance bodies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support the interaction with Risk Control Assurers (RCAs) in the first line of defense and coordinate with Internal Audit (3LoD) to enhance the overall control environment.
Independent Reviews: Assist in conducting specialized reviews (e.g. IT Continuity Critical Processes) as required by local regulators and the Group model.
Job Specifications
Qualification & Experience
Bachelors degree in Business Administration Economics Law Engineering or a related field.
At least 2 years relevant experience in internal control NFR audit or compliance within Corporate and Investment Banking.
Knowledge & Skills
Familiarity with the Three Lines of Defense (3LoD) model and international banking risk frameworks.
Language
Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese.
Other Skills (e.g. Interpersonal Communication etc)
Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail; ability to work effectively in a 360 degree perspective with diverse teams.
