About the Role

Ricardo is looking for the next generation of engineering graduates to join our global automotive and industrial team. You will be using your specialist skills in mechanical automotive mechatronic or aerospace engineering to consult with our clients to come up with innovative solutions to their requirements. You will be applying your specialist knowledge to a broad range of market sectors including passenger car heavy duty and commercial vehicle as well as marine off-highway and aerospace.

Key Responsibilities

  • The creation of mechanical concepts for engine transmission and vehicle components including fuel cell module applications
  • The creation of mechanical concepts and schemes for the packaging of electronic and electrical components for use in battery packs for automotive rail and aerospace applications
  • Prototype and production design in the development of mechanical systems and components particularly relating to the above fields
  • To produce detail drawings of components suitable for prototype and volume production

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Basic knowledge of designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies within the automotive or similar industries (Experience in the automotive industry is preferable but not essential)
  • Basic knowledge of 3D CAD systems ideally an experienced user of CATIA V5 Creo or NX CAD systems.
  • Conversant with Windchill PLM system or similar systems.
  • Basic knowledge of automotive powertrains ideally with some knowledge of electric and hybrid powertrains.
  • Knowledge of volume manufacturing techniques such as sand and die casting for aluminium and iron castings extrusions plastic injection moulding sheet metal fabrication metal joining (welding/riveting/bonding)
  • Knowledge of prototype manufacturing techniques such as rapid prototyping and CNC machining.
  • A masters degree in Mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Relevant work experience.
  • Interest in a mechanical or electrical engineering hobby such as motor-sport restoration projects and/or formula student.
  • Czech language is a strong advantage
  • Good English language skills both written and verbal for project and technical communication.
  • Eligible to work in Czech Republic.
