Our Human Resources Wellness Team is seeking a Health & Wellness Consultant. Reporting to the Manager Wellness you will play a vital role in designing implementing and evaluating organization wide health and wellness initiatives. This role focuses on developing innovative strategic programs that positively influence employee health and wellbeing while delivering engaging education and promotion opportunities that strengthen employee engagement and contribute to a healthier organization overall.
What will I be doing
Drives the development and implementation of foundational proactive and preventative wellness programs by working with third party providers to design and execute special events and wellness programs at various locations (e.g. webinars wellness pop-ups and fairs) for an evolving workplace.
Utilizing experience data from Survey results Group Health Long Term Disability Short term Disability WSIB EFAP programs supplemented by demographic analysis and external benchmarking identifies areas of highest impact on Workplace Health and Wellness on which to focus program design.
Designs and develops programs leveraging existing service offerings and facilities supplemented by employee volunteers and not-for-profit community partners.
Delivers engaging mental health training and facilitates presentations and workshops on wellness programming and a wide range of wellness related topics across the organization.
Leads and manages multiple wellness projects simultaneously ensuring effective planning execution and alignment with organizational priorities.
Establishes and maintains governance structure to support program evaluation and decision making. Presents to leadership regularly on program design and implementation.
Checks effectiveness of programs and refines or discontinues programs depending on program outcomes and participation rates.
Coordinates and facilitates the delivery of workshops at multiple sites in support of designed programs and offerings.
Creates and sustains internal/external support networks to foster health and well-being awareness and commitment to a positive people centered workplace.
Monitors administrative costs of benefit programs and wellness initiatives. Supports the budget process and assists with the monitoring verification and reconciliation of budgeted funds.
Responsible for Employee and Family Assistance program EFAP oversight and management of the commercial relationship and contract performance by the supplier of these services.
Models Metrolinx core values and meets the highest professional standards for confidentiality professionalism and respecting the sensitivity and privacy of information.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
Completion of relevant University and/or College program in a related field or discipline with an emphasis on Health Sciences Health Promotion Kinesiology Public Health or equivalent combination of education training and experience in a related field or discipline.
Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Excellent presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to deliver engaging training sessions and wellness related content to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated training experience and knowledge in wellness program design implementation and evaluation.
Demonstrated years experience in EFAP administration and wellness program development preferably within a large and complex unionized environment.
Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel PowerPoint).
Experience in research with analytical and problem-solving skills to provide analytical and technical support.
Accurate detail oriented and proven ability to resolve complex problems identify trends / patterns model alternatives develop and recommend fact-based solutions.
Excellent interpersonal skills well developed communication (oral and written) skills.
Working knowledge of applicable legislation; Human Rights Code of Ontario (Duty to Accommodate) Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Solid critical thinking analytical and problem-solving skills.
Thrives in a rapidly changing environment and maintains a sense of urgency
