Job Summary

The Literacy Interventionist at Adair County Elementary School is responsible for providing targeted research-based reading interventions to students who are performing below grade-level. This grant-funded position supports the schools commitment to improving literacy outcomes by delivering small-group individualized instruction aligned to Kentucky Academic Standards. The interventionist will monitor and analyze student data and collaborate with classroom teachers to close achievement gaps in reading.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 literacy interventions.

Deliver explicit systematic instruction in phonics fluency vocabulary and reading comprehension.

Use assessment data to identify student needs and adjust instruction accordingly.

Develop and implement individualized learning plans for students receiving intervention services.

Progress monitor students regularly and maintain accurate records of student growth and intervention effectiveness.

Collaborate with classroom teachers and administrators to align interventions with core instruction.

Participate in Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) meetings and data team discussions.

Communicate student progress with families and provide strategies to support literacy at home.

Support school-wide literacy initiatives and professional learning efforts.

Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district and state policies and procedures.
Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Elementary Education Literacy or a related field (Masters degree preferred).

Valid Kentucky teaching certificate.

Experience teaching or providing literacy intervention at the elementary level.

Strong knowledge of the science of reading and evidence-based literacy practices.

Experience with data analysis and progress monitoring tools.

Ability to build positive relationships with students families and staff.

*This position is funded through the Kentucky Department of Education Read to Achieve Grant and is limited to a two-year term concluding when grant funds cease. While it is possible that the grant may be refunded continuation of the position beyond the initial term is not guaranteed.
