This positionoperates independently; however it falls under the direction of the PoliceOfficer Standards and Training Commission (POST) under the Delaware Departmentof Safety and Homeland Security (DSHS).The DPAC Administrator falls directly under the direction of theExecutive Director. This is a position for someone with management leveldecision making experience.
Essential functions are fundamental core functions commonto all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustivelist of all job duties for any one position in the class. The DPACAdministrator travels throughout the state inspecting all police determine the degree of compliance with policies plans laws andregulations; determine the most economical use of resources; determines ways toimprove existing practices and how current information is being complied; andcoordinates activities through the Executive Director and police chiefs. Inspections include facility managementfiles reports and record keeping. Oncean inspection is completed the DPAC Administrator completes reports whichdetail the above findings. Correctiveaction is also recommended. Thisposition reviews DPAC and CALEA standards: decides what standards areapplicable to the police agency assigns these standards to the appropriatesection and tracks each standard. They handle all demands and responsibilitiesof DPAC/CALEA as well as prepare coordinate and oversee the entire DPACaccreditation process. The DPAC Administrator is also responsible for allaspects and functions of the accreditation electronic record system withPOWERDMS/ACCRED.
