Job Summary
- Perform nerve conduction studies according to established protocols.
- Prepare patients for EMG procedures explaining tests and ensuring comfort.
- Assist physicians during electromyography examinations.
- Accurately record analyze and document test results.
- Maintain and calibrate EMG equipment.
- Ensure compliance with infection control safety and HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor patient responses and report abnormalities to supervising physician.
- Maintain patient records and update electronic medical systems.
- Provide compassionate care and address patient concerns.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelors degree in a related field preferred.
- Completion of an accredited neurodiagnostic or EMG technician program preferred.
- Certification such as CNCT (Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist) or .T. is a plus.
- Prior experience in neurology neurodiagnostics or a clinical setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of anatomy physiology and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Standing and walking for extended periods Lifting up to 50lbs.
- Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment.
- Inside climate-controlled working conditions.
