Summer Intern Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing)
Location: Newton NC
Department: Lean Manufacturing
Duration: Summer Internship (1012 Weeks)
Reports To: Lean Manufacturing Systems Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated summer Intern focused on Continuous Improvement pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering Business Operations Management or a related field to support our Continuous Improvement (CI) team. The intern will assist with process mapping data analysis and Lean/Six Sigmabased improvement projects aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing waste.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support process mapping workflow analysis and documentation.
- Collect and analyze data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Assist with Kaizen events workshops and CI initiatives.
- Prepare reports and dashboards to track KPIs and project updates.
- Partner with cross-functional teams on small-scale improvements.
- Research and recommend best practices and innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
- Strong interest in Continuous Improvement Lean or Six Sigma.
- Analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with data visualization tools a plus.
- Effective communication and teamwork.
- Prior coursework or exposure to improvement projects preferred.
