Description of Work

The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission is accepting applications for a Videographer/Visual Content Coordinator (Television/Media Services Coordinator) for our Office of Communications Marketing and Digital Engagement (CMDE).

The NC Wildlife Resources Commissions Office of Communications Marketing and Digital Engagement (CMDE) for the Wildlife Resources Commission engages North Carolinas citizens and visitors in understanding their connections to the states natural resources particularly its wildlife resources and to the Wildlife Resources Commission. The primary function of the Office of CMDE is to impart messaging designed to facilitate the conservation of the states natural and wildlife resources their habitats and the environment humans share with these resources. The office is directly responsible for all agencys communications and marketing efforts. The office comprises five branches: Communications Marketing Digital Engagement Design and Publications.

This position serves as the official videographer of the NCWRC housed within the agencys Office of Communications Marketing and Digital Engagement. Under the Internal Communications Specialist this position will develop and implement a video strategy to increase public awareness of NCWRC and its various programs services and initiatives. This position is responsible for using an array of tools and platforms to create and produce high-quality engaging videos that can be distributed through a variety of digital outlets from concept to final edit along with maintaining a video catalog and searchable archive.

A Monday-Friday schedule is associated with this position which involves working 40 hours per week. The position carries statewide responsibilities and requires frequent travel. Assignments work and projects may be located across the state. This position is based in the WRC Headquarters in Raleigh NC (Wake Co.).

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Ability to independently originate and design artistic approaches to produce video in conjunction with comprehensive technical knowledge of specialized state-of-the-art equipment;
Experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere;
Experience with Journalist Style Writing;
Experience with Social Media Platforms;
Experience with Audio Production.

Special Qualifications/Requirements:

Possession of a valid North Carolina drivers license is required within 90 days of hire.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions;
Ability to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time to include lifting and carrying medium to heavy items.

RECRUITMENT RANGE: $39244 - $55700

Classification Specs NC Office of Human Resources

Bachelors degree in public relations broadcasting emerging media radio television production or related field from an appropriately accredited institution;

or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
