KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Pricing Data Expert:
- During your onboarding you will get extensive training into our dynamic pricing algorithm as well as the data it produces and digests. The goal for you is to become the expert for translating business questions coming from our regional pricing analysts or other stakeholders into actionable insights deduced from our pricing data. Our pricing data consists of not only the calculated final price but also all the settings on customers suppliers and products used for this calculation. This data can be enriched by historical pricing sales or purchasing data. You will become the go-to person for navigating our internal pricing data structures ensuring you understand the flow of information from source to final price.
Tableau Visionary:
- In order to empower our pricing analysts you will design build and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards that provide clear visibility into pricing performance trends and calculation logic (e.g. how many times did we apply discounts on high quantity purchases). The goal of these dashboards is to get a deeper insight into the calculation of each price and understand the impact of certain settings such as e.g. customer discounts on our final margin. You will build new dashboards as well as maintain existing ones.
Data Empowerment:
- As a pricing performance analyst you act as the gatekeeper between our raw pricing data in BigQuery and the final prepared data export/report required by our pricing analysts for their strategic deep-dives. You will translate source data using SQL scripts into ready-to-use products (e.g. excel files tableau dashboards etc) tailored to the specific need of each request.
Analytic-Driven Problem Solver:
- You will serve as the primary troubleshooter for our complex pricing algorithm. By leveraging advanced SQL and BigQuery diagnostics you will analyze the underlying data structures and dependencies that feed our calculation models. You wont just identify errors; you will preemptively uncover systemic data inconsistencies (e.g. detect outliers) ensuring that every automated price point is backed by high-integrity datasets and aligns with our global financial guardrails.
Connect with different stakeholders:
- You will serve as the primary point of contact for diverse sub-teams within the Pricing department. You are responsible for deconstructing their unique business requestswhether they concern margin optimization competitive elasticity or promotional logicand mapping them precisely to our complex data possess the rare ability to speak two languages. You can sit with Data Engineers to discuss SQL optimization and BigQuery schemas then pivot to a meeting with Commercial Managers to explain how those technical nuances impact their regional margin for example.
Contextual Data Storytelling
- You dont just hand over reports. You provide the narrative behind the numbers. When delivering findings you contextualize the data within the pricing domain ensuring stakeholders understand the why behind the results and the specific business levers they can pull to drive performance.
Continuous Improvement:
- You constantly look for ways to improve data quality and reporting efficiency. You will refine how we track pricing success and suggest new metrics to boost our competitive edge.
Pricing data quality monitoring:
- You will design and implement proactive monitoring scripts and automated alerts within our data pipelines. Your goal is to stop the bleeding before it hits the marketfor example by building logic that instantly flags any customer profile missing a designated pricing tier or identifies parts with zero-cost values before they are processed by the pricing engine.
Data Catalog Management:
- You will own and evolve the Pricing Data Catalog. This involves documenting data lineage (where the data comes from and where it goes) and maintaining clear definitions of all pricing variables. You ensure that when a Business Analyst reads a report they understand the context constraints and business logic behind every column.
PROFILE
