Job Title: Case Aide (Weekend)
Location: Bronx NY Migrant Shelter (Families with Children)
Schedule: Saturday & Sunday 6:00 AM 6:00 PM (12-hour shifts)
Compensation: $20.00 $21.00 per hour
Reports To: Case Manager Supervisor / Director of Social Services
Position Summary
The Case Aide provides critical administrative and operational support to the Case Management team within a NYC migrant shelter. This role helps ensure smooth day-to-day operations supports client engagement and assists in delivering services that promote stability compliance and progress toward housing and self-sufficiency.
This is a highly visible client-facing role requiring professionalism empathy and the ability to work in a fast-paced shelter environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Case Managers with daily administrative tasks including file organization data entry and case documentation
- Assist with client intake orientation and check-ins as needed
- Help maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in compliance with NYC DHS/OTDA guidelines
- Escort clients to on-site services appointments or meetings as required
- Distribute supplies mail and program-related materials to residents
- Monitor common areas and report any concerns to appropriate staff
- Provide basic information and guidance to residents regarding shelter services and rules
- Assist in coordinating workshops appointments and service referrals
- Support crisis intervention efforts by alerting supervisory staff when issues arise
- Maintain a professional respectful and culturally sensitive approach when interacting with residents
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelors degree in Human Services or related field preferred
- Prior experience working in a shelter social services setting or with vulnerable populations strongly preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced high-demand environment
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office case management systems preferred)
