Leadership Learning and Accountability
Job Goal:
Facilitate and support educator learning through the Texas Reading Academies (TRA) by guiding assigned cohorts providing feedback on participant work and ensuring fidelity of implementation aligned to the science of teaching reading.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university required
- Valid Texas teaching certificate required
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in K-5 RLA classroom instruction required
- Experience in literacy instruction preferred
- Experience facilitating adult learning or coaching educators preferred
Special Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of the science of teaching reading including phonological awareness phonics fluency vocabulary and comprehension
- Strong understanding of adult learning theory and effective professional development practices
- Ability to facilitate learning in both virtual and face-to-face environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational time management and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in using online learning platforms and digital tools
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Implementation
- Facilitate assigned Texas Reading Academies cohorts in accordance with TEA and ESC guidelines
- Ensure fidelity to program design content and timelines
Participant Support and Feedback
- Monitor participant progress and completion of modules
- Provide timely specific and actionable feedback on participant submissions
- Support participants in applying course content to instructional practice
Communication and Collaboration
- Communicate regularly with participants regarding expectations deadlines and progress
- Collaborate with ESC staff to ensure alignment and program success
- Participate in required trainings calibration sessions and meetings
Data Management and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of participant progress and completion
- Submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner
Professional Growth
- Engage in ongoing professional learning related to literacy and facilitation
- Stay current with TEA guidance and updates related to Texas Reading Academies
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Equipment used: Standard office and classroom equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Working Conditions:
- Some travel within the Region 6 ESC service area required
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
- Maintain emotional control under stress
- Work with frequent interruptions
- Prolonged use of computer and virtual platforms
