Job Summary
This is a hybrid role in Perrysburg Ohio.
The Demand Planning Leader is responsible for the analysis and publication of the business unit consensus demand plan for the entire planning horizon. Their focus is on forecast accuracy forecast bias integrity and timeliness. This position interacts with internal and external customers with the primary goal of delivering an accurate demand plan.
- Planning scope: 1600 SKUs/ 2.5M tonnes accounting for $2B revenue per annum
- Geographic span: All O-I North America Plant/ Ship-to combinations in the United States and Canada
Leverage expert-level demand planning functional competency to build a demand proposal for the full planning horizon incorporating inputs including but not limited to market intelligence statistical modeling customer input historical data supply constraints etc. This individual will facilitate the country group IBP demand review cadence.
Responsibilities:
- Work with business unit leadership to generate a consensus demand plan comprised of various inputs statistical commercial customer market intelligence etc... Collaborate with internal and external business partners to identify and resolve discrepancies between forward-looking sales forecasts and demand forecasts.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and forecast bias KPIs for the region ensure the identification of sources forecast error and corrective action for continual improvement and review/challenge root cause analysis provided by the demand planners.
- Assist in the development of annual budget and reconcile rolling consensus forecast to the budget. Communicate and collaborate with key partners in commercial finance or manufacturing to understand and address any gaps between the plans.
- An understanding of strategic business objectives identify IBP KPIs impacted by demand-planning activities and outputs (ex. OTIF) and drive continual improvement in results.
- Determining methods to address and correct any demand-planning group behaviors that adversely affect IBP KPIs. Escalate and resolve demand planning issues that span across categories or countries.
- Collaborate with other regional Demand Planning Leaders and supply chain partners to drive demand planning functional competency growth and industry best practices/improvement initiatives.
- Ensure that the demand forecast is shared/received in the format level of detail and timing required by all customers and supply chain partners with documented assumptions with sensitivity confidential data relating to risk and cost.
- Work with various cross-functional teams on projects such as new product launches line extensions and product discontinuations. Play a lead role in the integration of new products including scope definition product segmentation review and communication to demand stakeholders. Evaluate buying patterns of key customers and predict how the company should react to product phase in phase out warranty availability demand shifts promotions events and competitive products.
- Ensure adherence to customer contracts with respect to demand planning and forecasting. Participate in the contract process for new and existing customers. Understand the impact of special requests from customers which are outside of contractual obligations negotiating equitable and profitable service alternatives.
- Maximize utilization and functionality of demand planning tools (SAP/APO) and participate/ support implementation of new tools.
Qualifications :
- A minimum of 7 years Demand Planning experience
- Experience generating and refining statistical forecasting modeling data analysis and reporting. . Knowledge of best practice demand forecasting techniques sales and operations planning collaborative forecasting/planning with customers and integrated supply chain management concepts is preferred.
- People Management
- Knowledge/ understanding of manufacturing industry and B-to-B business
- An undergraduate degree in supply chain management engineering operations business or a related field.
- Graduate degree in Business or Statistics preferred.
- Proven experience leading or influencing others to drive change and create a continuous improvement culture.
- IBF CPF/ACPF Certification supply chain/operations certification such as APICS CPIM/CSCP and Project Management Institute (PMI) certification are preferred.
- SAP APO experience preferred. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite Applications proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficient in English other regional languages a plus

Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position will be between $120000 - $160000 with a potential 15% STI. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
