Medical Technologist
Location: Englewood FL 34233
Schedule: Full-Time Night Shift Rotating Weekends
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Medical Technologist to join a high-performing laboratory team. This role is responsible for performing accurate and timely diagnostic testing to support quality patient care.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills sound judgment and a commitment to maintaining excellence in laboratory operations and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Operations
- Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing within established turnaround times
- Execute STAT testing procedures efficiently
- Analyze proficiency testing samples according to required standards
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of patient results
Quality & Compliance
- Perform quality control procedures in accordance with established protocols
- Identify troubleshoot and resolve issues with laboratory specimens and test results
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards
Analytical & Technical Skills
- Interpret and correlate patient results using independent judgment
- Perform delta checks and validate test accuracy
- Review pending and result logs; resolve outstanding items or communicate effectively during handoffs
Team & Operational Support
- Assume departmental responsibility in the absence of a supervisor
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and continuity of operations
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Medical Technology or related field Required
- Active State of Florida Medical Technologist License Required
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist
- Generalist experience strongly preferred including:
- Blood Bank
- Serology
- Chemistry
- Hematology
- Microbiology
